Who are we exactly?
Young Nak Presbyterian Church is a relatively large church - about 4000 people. For that reason, groups are divided by language and age. YNPoiema is the english-speaking college student ministry of YNPC. Click here for more info about our vision, values, history, etc.

Where are we located?
We are located at 650 McNicoll Ave.
We worship in the basement floor of the church in the EM Chapel at 2:12pm.

Why do we worship at 2:12pm?
212 stands for 212 degrees farenheit - the boiling point of water. At this point water is released from its confines and transformed into energy. Released and transformed are apt descriptors of worship and the christian life in general.

Do i have to be a college student to participate?
Though most of the participants are college students, everyone is welcome. Please keep in mind that we do have other meetings in the church that you might like as well.

What do we believe?
We believe that the bible is the primary rule for life and faith. We believe that Jesus Christ is the only way to God. We believe that our greatest comfort, meaning, hope, and joy can only be found in being at peace with God the Father, through faith in Jesus Christ, attested to our hearts by the work of the Holy Spirit. What are some of our values?
At YNPoiema we stress the Three 'B's - Belonging, Believing, and Becoming. We warmly welcome anyone looking for comfort and meaning to believe in the good news of Jesus Christ and to become like him in character and purpose through committed discipleship.

What are some of the things we do regularly?
212 (Sunday Worship), HEAL (Saturday Morning Prayer), Bi-Weekly Oasis usually on Fridays. There are also occasional events to look out for. Please check the Access YNPoiema section on the main page.

How can I get more involved?
One way is to continue participating in the ministries that are available to everyone. Another way to get more involved is to begin serving. Please keep in mind that some areas of service require membership. Please click here to find out more.

What is Membership?
Membership means to officially join the Church body. You become an integral part of the church - sharing in its worship, committing to its vision, participating in its mission, enjoying its privileges, and participating in its fellowship.

Why Membership?
Membership may seem old-fashioned and restrictive in our free-flowing culture but Christianity has always been counter-cultural. Following Christ is a very serious personal commitment. And it is also a very serious corporate commitment. We cannot claim to walk personally with God if we do not walk together with the people of God. Membership says that i'm serious not only about Christ but also about his Church that he loves.

How do i become a member?
Membership requires baptism and/or confirmation and attending the church's membership class. If you have been confirmed or baptized as an adult elsewhere, you can simply attend the membership class. If you haven't been baptized or if you have only been baptized as an infant but haven't confirmed that baptism through adult confirmation, you'll have to attend the baptism/confirmation class as well as the membership class. How can i get an offering envelope?
Simply fill out and submit the necessary form. Forms are found on the desk just outside the chapel. The drop-off box is located there as well. Your offering envelope will be waiting for you there next sunday.
